Is Anal Bleaching Safe?

Anal bleaching is a cosmetic process used to lighten the skin color around the anus. It is a purely cosmetic procedure and is a relatively new concept among both men and women. Pornographic actresses with even toned butt color have encouraged others outside the industry to have their anal area bleached. The area around the anus is naturally darker as compared to other parts of the skin. Anal bleaching can be used to get an even tone, something which is not common naturally. You may either go to a salon to have your butt bleached, or buy a bleaching cream with which you can bleach your booty yourself at home. But since it’s a new idea, people are curious to know is anal bleaching safe? We will try to find out the details here at oneHOWTO.

Why is anal bleaching suddenly so popular?

Pornography stars were perhaps the first to have their bum bleached. This was likely to lighten the skin tone of their anus so that it matches the rest of their skin. Increased usage of lingerie and swimsuit types also made anal bleaching more popular. With endorsements from celebrities and greater general access to pornography via the internet, people started noticing that their anal region is darker than the rest of their body. Destigmatization of anal sex has also contributed to people’s concern over the appearance of their anus. Perhaps to combat problems over a new element of self-consciousness, anal bleaching started gaining mainstream appeal.

According to some, people feel more confident while having sex with their partner after having their anus bleached. Some people also use the procedure to get an even skin tone while wearing bikinis, thongs or G-strings. That’s why an increasing number of people are looking forward to get their booties bleached through anal bleaching and whitening treatments.

Access to anal bleaching

In fact, poor hygiene, underrated skin care habits and tight undergarments can increase melanin that is responsible for making your skin darker. Anal bleaching procedures are able to reverse this process and help in achieving a sparkly lighter bum. Earlier, skin whitening treatments for intimate areas were available in specialty health spas and cosmetic clinics only. But since more and more people are looking for ways to lighten their butt, cosmetic companies have come up with special products that aim at anal bleaching at home.

While not everyone is comfortable baring their rump to a stranger, there are ways you may do it in private on your own. The only thing you have to keep in mind is to follow the instructions very carefully. Since the rectal region is a very delicate and sensitive area, you don’t want to end up having a skin irritation, allergy or infection. Although you would want to get results as quickly as possible, you don’t need to risk your health with the process. So, it’s important to have a deeper look into the safety of anal bleaching products.

Safety concerns about anal bleaching

Whether you are going for anal bleaching at a spa, cosmetic clinic or at home, you need to be sure that you are choosing the right product, since not all anal bleaching products are safe. Pay very close attention to each and every instruction to avoid any chemical burns and skin irritation.

Most importantly, avoid any product that has hydroquinone in it. While it is an effective ingredient to lighten the skin, it is not deemed to be safe and some countries have even banned it completely from skincare products. So, even if it is allowed in your area, you won’t want to put your rectal health at risk with suspected ingredients. Most of the time, it is safest to choose skin lightening products containing natural ingredients only. Also make sure that there are no harsh ingredients present in the products, even they may give you quicker results. They may also cause side effects like scarring, burning, incontinence and ochronosis. Ochronosis is a condition in which your skin gets permanently disfigured and discolored. Sometimes, it may also increase risk of having a serious condition such as cancer.

Other major ingredients that are present in most bleaching products are kojic acid and arbutin. Kojic acid is a safer alternative of hydroquinone, but it has less efficiency in lightening your skin. As far as arbutin is concerned, your body can naturally convert it into hydroquinone and deliver similar side effects. Laser based methods of anal bleaching do come with their own set of side effects and warnings, and they are very expensive too. They do not deliver consistent results all the time, and the process can be painful for some. Sometimes, laser procedures also leave scars.

How to bleach your anus safely

Doing the anal bleaching on your own may be safer, since you have complete control over the process and you know which ingredients you are using. However, a professional beauty therapist should have more experience. You can do a patch test on a small area of your skin to see if any irritation occurs. When you do this at home, you are free to decide whether you want to continue with the process or not. If you are not comfortable, the salon people may pressurize you to go forward, because it is in their monetary benefit. If you think that this process is difficult to do on your own, it's not. It’s even more effective and safer than going to a cosmetic clinic for a butt bleaching session.

Whatever your product’s usage instructions are, you should always start with dry and clean skin and make sure that there are no cuts, bruises or infections in the area. You should also ensure it is free of hair. Always apply the product with washed hands and avoid the asshole itself. Beware of extreme burning, stinging or itching sensation during or after the procedure. Although mild irritation is common while using bleaching products, especially if you are using it on a sensitive area like your perianal skin (the skin of and surrounding your anus), you should immediately wash away the product if you feel extreme itching or burning sensation. Wash the area with mild soap and apply a moisturizer to seal the skin.

To prevent any skin infection, you should avoid any sexual activity for at least 3-5 days after the treatment, even if your rear end is not irritated. If the skin of your anal region is raw or open, then you should continue abstaining from sex for a longer time. Since friction and heat may irritate your skin and lead to hyperpigmentation, you should avoid laser hair removal or waxing for a few days. You should also avoid activities like bathing, running or hot yoga for the time being. Don’t wear a thong or soak in a hot tub for too long.

Should you bleach your anus?

Anal bleaching is a slow process. You may need to bleach your butt as much as twice a day for as long as six months to get the results some people look for. We all should be in control over our own bodies and treat them according to our own wishes. However, if we are giving in to social pressures or feeling like we have an ugly anus, it can be detrimental to us both physically and mentally. We can choose to do what we want, but there is an underlying implication with the lightening of the anus. This implication is that darker skin is worse. There is a same issue with people of a darker complexion lightening any part of their skin.

You may choose to bleach your anus because it makes you feel better and you have the right to. However, you should at least consider whether it is not better for you overall to accept your that this intimate area is naturally darker and that is not a problem needing to be fixed. While you may not have any medical issues after anal bleaching, they are possible and you are at much more of a risk than not doing it at all. More important than cosmetic beauty is keeping your anus hygienic and healthy.
