To make homemade translucent powder, first buy the following natural ingredients. They are all are readily available. You will need:

  • Corn flour or rice flour.
  • Red clay.
  • Glitter (optional).

The first step is to buy or use an old clean container with a lid to store your translucent powder. Then, add three tablespoons of corn flour or rice flour to the container. Though you could use either, corn flour is preferable as it leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth.

Red clay is perfect for the skin as it treats acne and impurities. This homemade translucent powder will also add a hint of colour for a youthful complexion. Slowly add some red clay to the flour in the container until it turns the desired colour, stirring continuously as you go along.

Finally, close the container, shake vigorously and the translucent powder is ready to apply! If you like powders with a subtle glow, you could add a pinch of white glitter to the mixture.

Remember that translucent powder should be applied to the face just after your foundation, to mattify the skin and leave a natural, soft finish. Use a powder make-up brush and apply the powder mostly on the T-zone (forehead, nose and cheek) which is more prone to oiliness.
