Using Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal not only has many health benefits, its obvious black color is also a great natural ingredient to make your own black lipstick.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cocoa butter
  • 1 tsp beeswax pastilles
  • A pinch of activated charcoal
  • An empty chapstick tube

Steps

  1. In a jar put coconut oil, cocoa butter and beeswax pastilles.
  2. Put the jar in a pot of simmering water.
  3. When the ingredients in the jar melts, remove the jar from the water.
  4. Now add the activated charcoal in the jar and blend it thoroughly with the melted ingredients.
  5. Now transfer the contents of the jar into the empty chapstick tube.
  6. Let the lipstick cool down before using it.

Note: To make black matte lipstick, add bentonite clay in the lipstick mixture.

 

How to Make Black Lipstick at Home - Using Activated Charcoal

Using Black Mica

Another product that is great to make black lipstick is black mica, which is also a mineral that comes from granite in this case.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp beeswax pastilles
  • 1/2 tsp shea butter
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1tsp jojoba oil
  • 1 Vitamin E capsule
  • A pinch of Mica coloring
  • An empty chapstick tube

 

Steps

  1. In a jar put the beeswax pastilles, shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil.
  2. Put the jar over a water bath.
  3. When the ingredients melt, remove the jar.
  4. Now open the Vitamin E capsule and pour it in the mixture.
  5. Mix it well.
  6. Then add the mica coloring. Mica is a mined product which has dark black pigment.
  7. Mix it thoroughly.
  8. Now transfer the contents of jar into the empty chapstick tube.
  9. When it cools down, your black lipstick will be ready.

Using Black Crayon

Last but not least, this is probably the most popular and well-known way of making DIY lipstick at home. You should know that using crayons is relatively safe, as they are designed to be non-toxic in case children swallow them.

Ingredients

  • 1 black crayon
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • An empty chapstick tube

 

Steps

  1. Peel the paper off the crayon. Then cut the crayon into small pieces.
  2. Take a jar and put crayon pieces into it. Also add coconut oil and olive oil into the jar.
  3. Place the jar into a water bath until all the ingredients melts completely.
  4. Now transfer the contents of the jar into the empty chapstick tube.
  5. Keep the tube in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes take out the chapstick tube and your black lipstick is ready.

Note: Make sure that the lipstick cools down completely before applying it. If it is used earlier, it might cause burns.
