Since ancient times this plant has been used as a treatment to darken hair; some say it is also possible to use the walnut shells to get more intense dyes.

So, the first thing you should do is get your hands on some walnut leaves. You can take these directly from a producer of nuts and dry them at home or buy them in a shop specializing in natural products, where you will probably find them for sale already dried.

To dye your hair naturally you must prepare a concoction with the walnut leaves; two handfuls per liter of water will suffice. Let them boil for about 15 minutes and allow the solution to cool so you don't burn yourself. Then filter it to remove the leaves and any impurities.

That done, you can start applying the natural walnut leaf dye on your hair. Do so evenly so that all the hair is covered by the mixture. You will need to let it act for about 20-30 minutes to transfer the dark walnut tones to your hair.
