Whenever you take off your shoes, your feet are exposed first. Our feet are constantly exposed to pollution, dust and sunlight, due to which they get easily dried and dirty. But most of them contain bleach and harmful chemicals that take a toll on the skin of your feet. Yoghurt

Yogurt contains lactic acid that effectively works as a bleaching agent. Due to this property, yogurt is the best remedy to lighten your feet skin color. Lactic acid in yogurt will remove the top dead skin cells layer of your feet, so that the scaly, dry and darkened skin of your feet is removed. Yogurt also contains vitamins and proteins which leave your feet skin glowing and soft.

Apply plain yogurt on your darkened feet and massage for 5 minutes. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. Doing this twice a day will improve your feet skin tone within a week. You can also mix a few drops of rose water and glycerin in yogurt, and massage on your feet until completely absorbed. Leave it overnight and rinse in the morning. Repeat everyday at bed time.

Raw milk

You can turn your dark feet into fair and glowing shapes using raw milk. It contains lactic acid that is the best natural scrub and exfoliator known till date. It also works as a natural skin bleach to lighten your feet skin. It has skin nourishing properties as well, which penetrate into your feet skin pores and cleanse them. Your finger joints need moisture, as skin in these areas tend to become dry and rough very easily.

To apply it on your feet, get a cotton pad, and soak it in the cold raw milk. Wipe the pad on your feet and let it stand for five minutes. Remove with cold water. When you apply raw milk on your feet, you are left with fair and smooth skin overall.

Coconut oil

If your feet are dark because of excessive dryness, then coconut oil will work wonders for them. Coconut oil is a heavy moisturizer that will make your feet fairer if you apply regularly. Every night, massage your feet with a few drops of warm coconut oil, wear socks and sleep. Lemon

Lemon has natural bleaching properties that can be helpful in removing darkness from your feet. Whether it is sun tan or pigmentation, your feet will be left soft and whiter if you apply lemon juice on your feet every day and you'll notice how it can whiten feet in a week.

You can either choose to massage your feet with a slice of lemon for 5 minutes, leave and wash off after 15 minutes.; or you can also mix 2 drops of honey into 1 tsp of lemon juice, and massage your feet with this mixture. After washing, apply a lotion containing shea butter or cocoa, wear socks and go to sleep.

Tomato

Tomatoes have natural bleaching properties that help in lightening the skin of your feet. They also contain the antioxidant lycopene which helps in protecting feet against damage due to sun. It decreases your skin’s sensitivity to UV rays, which is the main reason why your feet skin gets darkened over time. Tomatoes are also effective in removing dead cells from your skin surface.

Rub a tomato piece on your feet for 2-3 minutes, let the juice dry and rinse with water. Repeat this process everyday before going into the shower.

Potato

Also used to lighten underarms, potato is also a useful agent to whiten underarm skin, as it is a great natural melanin inhibitor, thus getting rid of any pigment you may want to get rid of from your feet. What you will need to do is to get the juice from one potato and gently massage it on your feet. Let it stand for around fifteen minutes and wash with warm water.

Make sure you dry your feet afterwards. This is a method that's great if other ways to whiten feet skin such as lemon irritate your skin, as it is perfect for sensitive feet.

Baking soda

Baking soda has many household and beauty uses, among which one of the best known is its ability to whiten skin. Though it's not highly recommended due to the dryness it produces, you can use baking soda to whiten feet skin following these instructions.

Add three tablespoonfuls of baking soda in a bowl of warm water. Mix well and submerge your feet in the solution for around 15 to 20 minutes. Dry your skin and make sure you apply moisturizer on your feet so they don't become dry or cracked.

Turmeric

Turmeric works to get rid of dark marks on delicate areas such as the face and is highly effective when used with yogurt and lemon together.

To make this remedy, add one teaspoon turmeric with one teaspoon yogurt and one teaspoon lemon. Mix properly and rub the mixture on your feet thoroughly, creating circular movements. After two to three minutes, you can leave it to stand until you notice the mixture is completely dry. Remove with warm water and dry perfectly.
