To make a homemade argan oil face cream you need the following basic ingredients: distilled water (100g or 3.5 oz), vegetable glycerine (5g or 0.17 oz), shea butter (5g or 0.17 oz), lannete wax (7.5g or 0.26 oz), essential oils (EAA) (1g), cosgard (1g or 0.03 oz) and, of course, Argan oil (7.5g or 0.26 oz). This recipe is very simple and you can do it in just 30 minutes.
Once you have all the ingredients separately weighed, place distilled water and vegetable glycerine in a bowl and heat both aqueous products to about 65 °C (149°F).
Meanwhile, in another saucepan place the vegetable oil, in this case argan oil, essences and fragrances of your choosing (EAA) and lannete wax, which acts as an emulsifier. Heat in bain-marie. Both ingredients should reach 70 ° C or 158 °F.
When that moment arrives, remove the pan from heat and pour in the shea butter. Do not mix until it has cooled, at least to about 5 °C or 41 °F.
When the butter has melted with argan oil and wax, you should take the saucepan with distilled water and glycerine and pour over the vegetable and emulsifying oil mixture, stirring constantly. Remember: It is important to always pour water in the oil and not the other way around to make sure that the cream sticks well.
Mix the solution while it cools naturally. You must ensure that all the products are homogeneous and that the cream becomes creamier. If you want to speed the cooling process, you can place the container into another saucepan containing cold water.
At this point, your facial cream with argan oil is almost ready. Just add the cosgard, which will act as a natural preservative for your facial cream. This is a perfect cosmetic product for cosmetics that have an aqueous base, i.e. containing water encased or hydrosols.
With all ingredients in mixed, place the packaged argan oil cream in your fridge. In about 24 hours it will be ready for cosmetic use. Remember argan oil will be beneficial to your skin.
