Heat up some water and, when warm, add one teaspoonful of borax. Leave it to stand for two or there hours.

Next, put your converse in the washing machine, and add the water and borax mixture directly in the drum with your sneakers and wash on a duct cycle. Once the cycle is over, contrary to other methods, it's recommended to dry them out in a sunny spot to increase the whitening effect.

Baking soda is a common household ingredient that has many uses, such as getting rid of stains. If your white converse are stained, especially with oily substances, then this is a good option for you.

In this case we'll boil just one tablespoon of water and mix with one tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoonful of baking soda. Mix well until you get a homogeneous paste. This method is only recommended to clean those difficult stains and spots that are stubborn and won't come out, as it's a bit tricky to use toothpaste on your whole sneaker. Make sure you use completely white toothpaste and one that does not have microbeads in either.

The first step is to apply the toothpaste on the area where the stain is, making sure it's completely covered. Then, wait for around ten minutes and scrape the toothpaste off with a warm, damp towel, making sure there are no remnants that remain on the sneaker.

When drying white Converse fabric, we recommend doing so outdoors instead of putting them in the dryer as they may shrink or deteriorate.

I burnt my white converse,I was trying to dry them in an oven but they got burnt.....how can I turn them white again?
OneHowTo Editor
Hi Chisengah,

If you have burnt the fabric, it is different to getting a stain. You have changed the physical makeup of the material and you cannot unburn it. However, you can try bleaching or dying them white to see if it returns the color. However, white Converse are going to get dirty and maybe some burn marks will have a shabby-chic look?
