Before doing the pineapple diet

The pineapple diet is a great way to lose fluid retention and reduce abdominal bloating and fat stored in the body. It is a great short-term solution to detoxify the body after periods of dietary excess, like Christmas holidays or Thanksgiving dinner because pineapple is excellent at cleansing the liver, kidneys and pancreas. It also helps burn fat and provides many much-needed vitamins.

However, as the pineapple diet is very low in calories it is not recommended to follow it for more than seven days. Any longer and your body will begin to suffer from deficiencies in certain nutrients. Remember that if you're looking to lose 10 kilos (22 lbs) or more, you should consult a nutritionist to recommend a healthy diet that, combined with the right amount of exercise, will make sure that you lose weight and stay healthy.
