Castor oil has a very thick consistency. So, it is usually mixed with other oils like coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil or another oil of your choice. I usually mix 3 tablespoons of castor oil with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil.

You can heat the oil mixture mildly over a water bath or you can skip this step if you are in a hurry.

Then dip your fingers in the oil mixture or use a brush and apply it over the scalp in a light circular motion. Gently massage the oil over the scalp. It helps in increasing the blood circulation along with stimulating hair growth. It also rejuvenates the hair. Moreover, Castor oil helps grow thicker hair.

For maximum coverage part you hair into sections and apply the castor oil mixture to each section till the whole scalp and hair is massaged with the oil evenly.

Now using a shower cap, cover your head. Then leave it for an hour. If you apply the oil mixture at night then you can cover your head and leave the oil mixture overnight. This will help the scalp and hair to absorb the oil effectively and completely.

If you are keeping your hair covered overnight then you can wash it in the morning. Or if you are in a hurry then you can wash your hair after an hour. Wash properly with a shampoo so that you get rid of all the oil. Since the castor oil is quite thick you would need to shampoo your head twice or more as needed to remove the oil.

You might not be able to feel the effectiveness of castor oil on the first or second wash. So, keep repeating this method twice a week each week to get maximum benefit. The result will be visible after a month or so of constant application in the form of dark, long and lustrous locks!
