How to Repair a Broken Lipstick

It has happened to all of us, when applying lipstick we have pressed down too hard and ended up breaking it in two. But if it happens again you no longer have to worry because in the following OneHowTo article we will show you a home trick which is very simple and which will enable you to repair the broken lipstick in a matter of minutes. Steps to follow:

1

Before starting to repair the broken lipstick we need the following material:

  • the broken lipstick
  • two small plastic bags
  • a lighter (a candle or match can also be used)
  • plastic gloves, preferably thin and well fitted
  • paper towels
2

First you will need to thoroughly wash your hands and prepare the work space. Put some paper towels on the table and on them place the materials which we have indicated above. By doing this you will avoid having the lipstick come into contact with external particles that may infect it.

3

Put on the gloves and place the bits of the broken lipstick in separate plastic bags. Put both bags separated in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. Make sure that the two bags don't touch each other and are well separated.

After this time, remove the lipstick from the freezer and, with the help of a lighter, heat the surface of the base, ie. what remains of the lipstick. Apply heat to the edges with great care to not go too far and burn it. Take into account that this is done simply to soften it.

5

Now you only need to take the piece of broken lipstick and place it on the base that is slightly melted. Apply further heat to the area of contact between pieces so that they merge together and become united. To perfect this you can use a toothpick and seal off the sides with it, as well as pass your fingers softly around the lipstick to smooth the crack.

6

Finally, introduce the fixed lipstick in the freezer for 10 minutes more and that's it! You can start reusing that lipstick you like so much as often as you like.
