Steps to follow:

1

A good alternative to shaving creams sold at any supermarket is one that's made from natural ingredients. Here is a home-made recipe for you to create your own shaving cream, using healthy ingredients that you're bound to have at home and that are also very economical.

2

To make your own shaving cream is very simple and also very cheap. You'll see how, in a few simple steps, you'll have a natural toxin-free product that will not only remove hair but will also leave your skin hydrated and soft after shaving, with no irritation. You will need the following ingredients:

  • A teaspoon of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • A teaspoon of honey
  • 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda
  • ¼ of a tablet of liquid soap
  • 1 vitamin E capsule
  • 1 tablespoon cosmetic grade white clay (optional)

Next, we'll show you how to make your homemade shaving cream. Take a bowl and melt the peanut butter using a bain-marie. Once melted, remove it from the heat and mix with the remaining ingredients (honey, bicarbonate of soda, soap, vitamin E and white clay) before letting it cool completely. Stir well so that all the ingredients are mixed together, taking as long as needed for a smooth consistency. After making the cream, store it in an airtight container and refrigerate.

4

Once the shaving cream is cold, you can start using it. Before you start shaving, it is best to thoroughly wash the area. This is to remove any residue or sweat that could irritate your skin. Then, apply the cream and gently move the blade across the area. Finally, rinse to remove the product. Keep the cream tightly sealed and store it at room temperature.

5

When preparing your homemade shaving cream don't make too much, because it only lasts for a maximum of two months. Bear that in mind so that it doesn't go off. It's better to make it in small batches and use it up on a weekly basis.
