You'll need:
  • Lavender Infusion
  • 85ml of caustic soda
  • 680ml of olive oil
  • 10ml of lavender essential oil
  • Fresh lavender

Steps to follow:

To make this homemade soap besides lavender you will need; extra virgin olive oil and caustic soda. Follow the steps below.

First, prepare a lavender infusion with 210ml of water and 2 tablespoons of lavender flowers. Leave to cool and pour into a plastic container.

Now, slowly add the caustic soda and stir the mixture until dissolved. It is very important to perform this step in a ventilated place and to wear protective mask and gloves, as the soda is a very dangerous substance, especially in contact with skin.

While the mixture cools, heat the olive oil over a medium heat.

Once the mixture has cooled, add the olive oil gradually into the container taking care not to splash. Stir all ingredients intermittently until you see the mixture begins to thicken.

When thickened, it's time to add the lavender essential oil stir all until it becomes a homogenous mass.

To finish making this homemade soap, pour the mixture into a soap mould. It is preferable that it is wide and not very deep. If you like, you can sprinkle in a mixture of crushed lavender flowers. Now we leave it to stand for approximately 15 days to harden. Then cut the pieces of lavender soap and start using it.
