  • Vitamin A rich foods can increase production of melanin in your eyes. Carrots, tomatoes, apricots and watermelons, are rich in beta-carotene that stimulate melanin production and darken your eyes
  • Foods rich in vitamin E, such as melon and egg yolk, are also beneficial in increasing melanin levels in the eyes, and preventing premature aging of the cells
  • Dairy products like cheese, yogurt and milk, contain amino acids that are also helpful in increasing melanin in the eyes
  • Fish contains vitamin D that not only increases melanin production, but also provides protection against harmful effects of the sun
  • Foods rich in vitamin C boost production of melanin, and help in fighting against free radicals. Vitamin C rich foods include oranges, grapefruits, red peppers, blueberries etc.
  • Seafood contains all kinds of minerals and vitamins, including vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K. Fish meat contains magnesium, phosphorus, iron and calcium, that can actually bring changes in your eye color. These changes can be permanent if you include fish products and seafood in your regular diet.

Use certain medications

There are certain medicines that can actually affect the production of melanin in your eyes. Medicines used for treating glaucoma have certain side effects that cause your eyes to become darker in color. There are some prescription eyelash enhancers in the market that have a side effect of darkening eyes. However, it's not recommended to do so, as there are many side effects to doing so.
