How to Get a Perfect Shave

There is nothing like a clean-shaven look to give a man a put-together, clean appearance. For this reason, it is important to learn how to do it correctly. Lately, beards have acquired much popularity. The 2 day beard is in fashion and the total shave is used only for job interviews, meetings, etc.

But it is clear that every so often we must take care of the skin and let it breathe a little. When it is time to shave, if you know how to do it properly, it really makes a difference. In this OneHowTo article we explain how to get a perfect shave, so you can have your skin in the best condition.

Steps to follow:
1

Let your skin wake up. Do not shave first thing after waking up in the morning. It is better to have breakfast first and let the skin rest for a bit. During the night, the skin swells because of fluid retention, so it is better to wait a bit before shaving.

2

Exfoliate the skin before shaving to remove dead skin and prepare pores for shaving. A good exfoliation is desirable once a week.

3

Moisten the stubble with warm or tepid water before shaving. This exercise opens the pores and helps the blades cut your hair and not the skin. Apply the water and give it some time to act. After moisturizing your beard you can start shaving after 2 or 3 minutes.

4

Massage the face with a selected foam or gel before passing the blade. Apply gel or foam which is alcohol free to soften, protect and revitalize your skin. This will not only help soften the hair, but it will also help protect you from possible rashes and skin irritations that may arise with shaving.

5

Make sure the blades of the razor are sharp. Damaged blades are the cause of most shaving accidents. A new blade provides a good slip of the razor down the face.

6

Apply adequate pressure on the beard and shave in the direction that the hair grows.

7

Shave the most sensitive area of the face first, the neck and under the chin. Then continue from the bottom up through the face.

8

Rinse the razor in hot water and use small touches during shaving. This will protect the skin from the effects of the passing of the blade.

9

When we are already completely shaven do not forget to clean the entire face with water which is as cold as possible so to close the pores. This step is very important because the open pores accumulate dirt, which can potentially cause annoying acne.

10

Dry your face with a towel and give it 'small pats', after apply your favourite aftershave and you will be ready.
