Oily hair is characterized by having an oily appearance due to excessive production of sebum, a natural substance that keeps hair well-oiled and protects it from external contaminating agents. This overproduction of sebum means that hair doesn't look clean for long and starts looking greasy and matted in a few days. If the hair gets dirty faster it means that it needs to be washed more constantly, which could cause problems to your scalp. To combat the issue of too much oil on your hair naturally a green clay mask can be great because this ingredient:

  • Balances sebum production.
  • Deeply cleanses the scalp.
  • Fights dandruff.
  • Helps keep hair clean for longer, giving it an extra shine and softness.

To make a green clay mask for hair you need the following ingredients and materials:

  • 4 tablespoons of green clay
  • juice of half a lemon
  • water
  • glass or plastic container
3

The first step is to dilute the green clay in some mineral water. Add 4 tablespoons of clay to the container and add some mineral water, avoiding using tap water. With the help of a spoon or spatula, stir vigorously until it forms a smooth paste.

4

When the green clay has diluted perfectly, add the juice of half a previously squeezed lemon and stir again so that the ingredients mix together. Lemon is a food with astringent properties that are ideal for regulating sebum production and keeping hair clean for longer.

5

After preparing the green clay mask, you just have to apply it to your hair. We recommend doing it on damp hair, applying a thin layer directly on the scalp and massaging the area with circular movements for a few minutes. Then leave the mask on for 20 minutes and after this time, remove with warm water and finish washing your hair as you normally do.
